How old is the public/private land information?

Many topographic maps with National Forest land have the private inholdings shaded with gray. This information is current as of the time the map was published (you can find that on the side of our map where it shows the quadrangle names). 10-20 years old is a typical age for these maps.

In addition, we have the overlay that outlines National Forest, BLM, State, and other public lands with colored borders. We get the data for this from various sources, and it is generally current within a few years and is updated on a regular basis. However, sometimes the agencies we get it from may be using older data. If there is a question or discrepancy, we'd recommend contacting the office that administers the area in question.
